Eating Pasta in a cave in the UK ft. Sotto Sotto

As we headed over to Bath to visit my younger brother and collect my stuff, we spent half a day in Bath over the weekend. We decided to turn this into a foodie trip (as usual) and popped around a few restaurants/ bakeries.

Sotto Sotto is an Italian restaurant that is located just a stone’s throw away from the Roman baths. You have to take flights of stairs down to the basement and you’d be instantly impressed by the candlelit vaulted cellars. It’s as if you’re having your meal in a cave, surrounded with bare stone walls.

All their staff is extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. They took over our backpack and coats, before directing us to our table.

I don’t understand why they do not include 12.5% of discretionary services charge on their bills? Can anyone explain this? Hmm 🤔

1️⃣ Fettuccine alla crema di zucca.

A plate of homemade fettuccine pasta with sage, chilli, roasted butternut squash, pancetta and truffle cream. Y’all know I’m a huge truffle lover!

Beautiful truffles taste nutty and earthy, they DO NOT overpower other ingredients on the pasta. You have to try this!!

2️⃣Fettuccine al ragù d’agnello con fonduta di Pecorino.

🌟 6.8/10

It’s a tomato-based fettuccine pasta served with lamb ragout. I ordered this pasta as it claimed to be covered with a bed of Pecorino cheese fondue but I hardly see the fondue.

It’s a simple pasta but some of the lamb ragout are not as tender and a little bit hard to chew.

Conclusion

💷 Price: ££ (Total bill: £27.75)
🎯Worth revisit: YAS 👏 fresh pasta in da house served with high quality ingredients!
