AD 🍽Tate Modern’s Kitchen & Bar 🍽
Tate Modern’s Kitchen and Bar (located at level 6) launched the new spring/ summer set lunch menu that costs £37 per person for three-course meal.
Tate Modern’s Kitchen & Bar incorporates the season’s best ingredients and the abundance of British produce, such as white asparagus, new season potatoes and summer berries.
Dining at the window seat allows you to enjoy beautiful scenery of St Paul’s Cathedral.
✨Here’s my review✨
1️⃣ Starters
Buratta, heritage tomatoes, salsa verde, basil cress
🌟 7/10
This is my first try on buratta and it did not disappoint me! It’s creamy and I can taste a great mix of milk and mozarella cheese in the buratta. Love how this is paired with fresh tomatoes to freshen up your tastebuds in case it gets too creamy.
Citrus-cured Chalk Stream trout, fermented meat radish, buttermilk, pickled onions
🌟 8.5/10
Their trout is so fresh as if it is swimming in my mouth and perfectly cured and well-marinated. I always like a little bit of sour taste coming out from the citrus as to make the food tasted more interesting.
2️⃣ Mains
Brixham Hake, spring leek fondue, monk’s beard, mussels, parsley sauce
🌟 8/10
When ordering seafood-like items (for e.g fish) in a restaurant, I’m always worried that the fish may be over-cooked and lost itstenderness. This is definitely not the case over here. The hake is so soft and almost melts in my mouth in just a few bites.
Even their leek fondue that is placed beneath the bake tastes excellent as it’s well mixed with parsley sauce. I’m allergic to mussels so I let my bf to finish them for me.
Beef with corn balls
💰 £15 supplement in addition to the cost
🌟 7/10
This is inspired by Salvador Dali‘s dish from cookbook ‘Les Diners De Gala’. You will get a plate of grass-fed Hereford-aged sirloin (with thyme oil), cornballs and watercress.
We ordered for the beef steak to be cooked to medium rare. I felt that some part is slightly tough to chew. Their cornballs are impressive though. I can’t stop finishing them all by myself.
3️⃣ Dessert
Chocolate tart, salted caramel popcorn, creme fraiche
🌟 8/10
Their chocolate tart is filled with a layer of caramel and dark chocolate sauce so rich in dark chocolate.
Baked Baron Bigod, brioche, golden raisin & apricots
🌟 7/10
It’s our first try on baron bigod – a type of cheese, which sits on top of brioche. Their taste is quite overwhelming.
Conclusion
🤩Rating: 8.5/10
💷 Price: ££ (3 courses for £37 pp)
🎯Worth revisit: YAS 👏 I’m impressed by this the quality of their food with stunning riverside views to enjoy whilst dining, yummy 🤌! 😋
