Koya London – Japanese Udon Noodle
If you’re looking for bouncy chewy & udon noodles at the heart of Soho, you should pay a visit to Koya Bar – London’s top-tier udon restaurant.
I queued for around 15-20 min on a Saturday afternoon and was offered the seats at the counter with my friend. I did not have to wait for too long for the food to arrive though, here’s what we got.
Reviews 🗯:
✨Tenzaru (£14.90):
It’s cold udon with cold sauce to dip, and comes with prawn and vegetable tempuras.
Another food trip led me to venture from my usual ramen taste to a cold noodle venture – I have to say this is my first try and i was very looking forward to being served with the dish!!
The noodles were fresh and chewy – dipped your noodles into the sauce and paired it with one small bite of tempura. This Japanese udon was simple but well-balanced.
The tempura is crunchy and coated with a thin batter of flour. But I have to admit I realised that I’m not a huge fan of cold noodles and the taste is a bit flat or bland overall… 🤩: 7/10
✨ Ten Hiya-Atsu:
it’s cold udon with hot broth and comes with prawn 🍤 and vegetable tempuras. Hearty and savoury udon both with umami Japanese flavours. Their udon noodles are definitely the showstopper!
✨Niku Atsu-Atsu:
You can choose how well-cooked you would like the beef to be (from raw to well-done)! It was seasoned well and tasted really interesting.
Conclusion
🤩Rating: 7/10
💷 Price: £15-£30pp
Worth revisit: 👣👣 YAS, for those udon lovers, I’d thought it’s definitely a must-try-for-at-least-one-time! I’m impressed with the silliness and chewiness of the udon noodles. It certainly a lot healthier than the usual fried foods that I heartened ❤️📣✨
