Retro-style ramen bar in London ft. Heddon Yokocho

Review 🇬🇧✨ Heddon Yokocho✨

I’m on a journey to try out and review ALL the ramen bar in London so that you only have to spend money on those ramen bowls that is worthy and tasty.

Today, I’m going to introduce a new retro-style ramen bar in London – Heddon Yokocho. You’ll be greeted by an instagrammable automatic ramen 🍜pull machine at its doorstep. Its interiors are specially designed to bring you back in time to the alleyways of Japan.

My picture was taken at home as I’ve again opted for delivery devices but I’d very much like to dine in in-store next time to experiment with the great ambiance.

✨Here’s my reviews✨

1️⃣ Tokyo Shoyu

💰£13.40

🌟 6.8/10

Hearty ramen with light soy based chicken & pork broth but I find it to be quite bland & lack of flavours. They are generous to include whole nitamago egg at no extra cost.

To make the ramen looks more presentable, I’ve transferred a few extra BBQ pork slices from other ramen but in fact I find that they gave relatively little pork belly per ramen. The ramen toppings also include Naruto fish cake and nori Seaweed.

Tokyo Shoryu

2️⃣ The Yokocho

💰£14.40

🌟 6.8

Both ‘the Yokocho’ and ‘Tokyo Shoryu’ have similar soy based chicken and pork homeothermic. Hence, I feel like they are both the same bowl of ramen perhaps with slightly different toppings like cabbage. All the remaining ingredients remain the same.

PS: I have transferred a few toppings from other ramen to make it looks better!

3️⃣ Hakata Tonkotsu

💰£13.40

🌟 7.4

I definitely prefer their tonkotsu based pork broth more than the remaining ramen. This comes with bbq pork, nitamago egg, red ginger and seaweed. I’d suggest the restaurant to level up their chashu pork game to be on par with other ramen shop in London.

Conclusion

🤩Rating: 7/10

💷 Price: ££

🎯Worth revisit: YAS 👏 Nothing beats Kanada-ya but if you prefer a lighter soup broth for you ramen, give this a go!
