Taste of Hakkasan

𝑯𝒂𝒌k𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏, 𝒂 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓, 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈. Several months ago, way before the imposition of tier restrictions, I managed to book a reservation and dine in @hakkasan.hanwayplace .

The average price of spending in this restaurant is approximately £85! However, they have this option on their menu: “𝘛𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘢𝘬k𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘯”, a three-course meal served with their signature cocktail, which costs £39 but it is only available during weekday from 5pm to 7pm!

Here’s my reviews on “Taste of Hakkasan”:

𝘿𝙞𝙢 𝙨𝙪𝙢: you get to choose between steamed dimsum or baked dimsum! You guys know HOW MUCH I love dimsum, what even a more refined & fancy one! I opted for steamed dimsum and tried Har gau – prawn (white), Halibut shui mai with water chestnut and tobiko caviar (the yellow one), Wild mushroom dumpling (the pink one)! Everything was UTTERLY yummilicious; I love how they were fully packed with fillings inside a thin layer of outer skin. Fresh, tender, a real taste explosion in my mouth!!

𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙨: we ordered: Sweet and sour Duke of Berkshire pork, spicy prawn & fish. Believe me, I have been eating sweet & sour pork in almost all of my birthday celebrations since I was a small kiddo. This ain’t the average pork that you get from the hawker centre. The MEAT was so TENDER & beautifully served, almost melt in my mouth! Both fish & prawns were so FRESH, I was so impressed with their sauces!! The portion was quite small tho, but these were served with jasmine rice and stir-fried asparagus, to reduce hunger! If you’re a huge fan of Uncle Roger @mrnigel.ng , you’ll know it’s hard to cook perfect rice but Hakkasan made it looks so effortless!

𝓓𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓮𝓻𝓽: Jivara Bomb: praline ice cream wrapped with rice crispies & drowned in warm chocolate sauce I might have been living in the cave for too long & have not tried rice crispies dessert before. It was a perfect end to my whole dining experience with Hakassan, you’ll love this beautiful chocolatey dessert. I finished everything as it ain’t too sweet!

Signature Cocktail : Too bad I’m allergic to alcohol, I only take few sips of the drinks but my bf absolutely LOVE IT! There are three options for you to choose, I went for the one with the least alcohol – ʜᴀᴋᴋᴀ, made with vodka, sake, lychee, lime, coconut and passion fruit. I can barely taste any alcohol but got my Asian flush after few sips!!

Overall: Taste: 8/10 Ambience: 7.5/10 Price: ££££ Service: 7.0 Ambience: 7.0 Worth revisit: Not for me! Recommend to visit for the first time as £38 is definitely a STEAL, but I wouldn’t revisit as it was a little bit too pricey for me & I gravitated towards budget EATINGS !!
