Where to find numbing Sichuan food in London ft. Chilli Cool
AD š¶Chilli cool š¶
Chilli cool is a Chinese restaurant that is specialised in making spicy Sichuan dishes with its own handmade chilli oil.
Iād highly recommend you to pay a visit to Chilli cool if you adore spicy food and are up for a spicy challenge to deliver a numbing sensation to your taste buds. When people talked about Si Chuan, Iād immediately think of an explosive mix of pungent and spicy flavours. This is definitely worth a TRY.

1ļøā£ Set menu for two
š° Ā£46.80
š 8/10
Chilli cool offers an extensive list of items in its menu and hence, if youāre not sure what to order, this set is a perfect solution.
It comprises of x9 Tasting dishes, Si Chuan bobo chicken bucket, tian shui mian (sweet water noodles) and ice jelly dessert.
The content of x9 tasting dishes includes rabbit meat in special black bean sauce, glutinous rice sticks in brown sugar sauce, sweet and sour pork ribs, fried pumpkin cake, Sichuan beef jerky, prawn spring roll, battered shredded pork, steamed glutinous rice cakes with minced pork and mung bean jelly in spicy sauce.
Battered Shreded Pork (my fav)
Glutinous rice stick in brown sugar syrup
Beef Jerky
Bobo Chicken
Iām blown away by their handmade chilli oil which is used to spice their sweet water noodles and bobo chicken buckets. Despite having my tongue all numb, itās addictive and I canāt stop finishing one stick after another. Their bucket also comes with sausage, luncheon meat, broccoli, chicken feet, various meats and mushroom in sticks and dipped inside the chilli oil after they are cooked.
Sweet water noodles
The sweet water noodles are bouncy and chewy.
You have to stir and mix the chilli oil thoroughly on top of your noodles to make sure every inch of noodles is covered with the sauce. Anything with chilli oil makes the food instantly tastes so much better.
Ice Jelly
The crystal clear ice jelly comes with dried fruits. Seeds, peanuts and brown sugar syrup. It instantly cools my mouth down and tames the heat which is best to eat with the spicy dishes.
2ļøā£ lamb skewers
š° Ā£2.50 per stick
š 7.5/10
My bf totally loves the skewers – as he describes itās tender, thoroughly seasoned and flavoured with spices.
