London’s Newest Sweet Obsession: Leo’s Bun

Leo’s Bun
There’s a new bakery spot drawing crowds in East London. Located on Commercial Road right by Petticoat Lane Market, Leo’s Bun is serving up a fresh, modern twist on traditional Hong Kong bolo buns (pineapple buns).
The Vibe
You can’t miss it walking down the street, the storefront is a bright, eye-catching lemony yellow and powder blue. It’s clean, minimal, and perfect for a quick photo, but the actual pastries are the real reason to visit.

What to Order
Instead of the classic slab of cold butter, Leo’s stuffs their fluffy milk bread buns with heavy-hitting fillings:
- 🍵 The Triple Matcha Bun: Deeply earthy with a nice, authentic hint of bitterness. The contrast between the crunchy cookie crust and the rich matcha lava inside is incredible.
- 🍠 The Taro Bun: A dream for texture lovers. The crispy shell gives way to a smooth, nutty taro paste that is comforting without being heavy.
- 🍋 Iced HK Lemon Tea: Sharp, punchy, and refreshing, the perfect pairing to cut through the buttery pastry.
