AD 🫓 Indian Room Balham🫓

If you’re looking for a restaurant that serves high quality, authentic Indian cuisines but are getting tired of the long queue at Dishoom, then look no further than this award-winning Restaurant “Indian Room”.

They offer an unrivalled selection of Indian dishes on their menu which includes Biryani, Tandoori, Curry, Thali etc.

✨Here’s my review✨

1️⃣Starter Plates

🦑 Balsari Baby Squid
💰 £7.95
🌟 8/10

Fresh squid marinated in herbs and spices, stir fried with green chillies, onions and curry leaves. Squish the lemon to drop their juices on the freshly fried squids to enhance the flavour. Squid 🦑 is crispy and well-marinated. It’s dangerously addictive.

Samosa Chaat
💰 £5.95
🌟 7/10

Not a huge samosa fan here but they make this taste really delicious with decent presentation. It’s mixed with chana masala chutney & spices.

🍤 Non-Vegetarian Platter
💰 £12.50
🌟 7.5/10

If you’re unsure which starter to order and would like to taste a bit of everything, then I’d highly recommend you to order this platter. It’s a Combination of starters including: Zinga 65,
seekh kebab and chicken tikka, spicy butter fried jumbo prawn topped with onions, peppers and curry leaves. My fav is the prawn which is huge and fresh.

2️⃣ Main

🍤 Bengal Jumbo Prawn Bhuna
💰 £14.95
🌟 8.5/10

I’m really impressed by all their prawn dishes. Normally, in a prawn curry I would have expected to find only a few prawns but they are generous with their portion here.
King prawns cooked in Bengal style, with peppers, tomato, onions and coarsely crushed spices.

🍤 Tandoori King Prawns
💰 £14.95
🌟 8/10

All their prawn dishes are full of flavour and extremely scrumptious. When I said “king prawns” here, these prawns really come in jumbo sizes. It’s mildly spice and cooked in its clay tandoor oven. I like how it’s being served on a sizzling plate to keep the food warm. The prawn is juicy and succulent.

🥩 Kashmiri Lamb Chops
💰 £16.95
🌟 7/10

I’m not get used to eating lamb but they really cook this dish skilfully such that the meat does not lose its tenderness. These lamb chops are marinated with saffron and aromatic spices, cooked in clay tandoor oven and served with chutney.

3️⃣ Rice and bread

🧄 Garlic and Coriander Naan
💰 £3.50
🌟 7/10

🫓 Lacha Paratha
💰 £3.75
🌟7/10

Back in my hometown, roti prata is a staple food which can be found in almost all mamak restaurants. It’s buttery and flaky.
